We're just back from Birmingham, and what a weekend it was!
On Friday 29th and Saturday 30th May, James and James (I'm the second one) manned the Hamerforge Chronicles stand, chatting with hundreds of fellow gamer/CYOA/warhammer/metal fans - and selling a few books to boot.
We met so many awesome people or all types and stripes - everyone bonding over a shared love of games, puzzles, quests and beautiful books.
We even got to meet Ian Livingstone and give him a copy of our book. I asked him:
"Should I call you 'sir Ian', sir Ian?"
"Ian is just fine," he said.
"Thanks Ian," I said, and handed him our book.
He told me that while he didn't read other people's gamebooks, he that that our artwork was great. I said: "Well, just tell everyone you thought it was great, regift it and we'll call it quits."
He smiled good naturedly, probably thinking about calling event security to have me removed.
Never thought I'd meet the guy whose face adorns that back of so many books that I love.
Meeting and chatting to Jonathan Green was a real highlight - as friendly as he is fascinating. I explained how we were relative newcomers to this world and he was full of advice and wisdom. I also used the Hammerforge Chronicles slush fund to purchase one of his gorgeous hardback Dracula books.

And here were are after day one, enjoying fish and chips after day 1.
